same with to jinshanling, just go out of the highway on previous exit which names GuBei WaterTown. so the simatai and jinshanling great wall is crossing the border between beijing and hebei province.

if you visit the simatai great wall in night, you should buy the water town tickets and ride the cable car with round trip. - the great wall and water town are all needed tickets.
